The one with the (useless) laser engraving

Dearest LHAMAS.
Long time no see. We are working our small bushy tails off, but luckily, we are getting closer and closer to a finished product.
The last few day have been dedicated to 3D printing and laser cutting, to get a visual model of our product. We were very exited when we had to connect the different parts, and they fit (surprisingly) well together!! This meant that we didn’t need as many iterations as feared. To get a more finished look, we decided to paint the different colored parts of 3D prints. The idea was that we wanted to create a sustainable color scheme, but had some troubles finding a perfect spray paint. We have however found peace with the slightly “fresher” green color which our product will end up having.

Another design exploration was the engraved veneer, which we thought would look good on the base part of the case. Unfortunately, this time we couldn’t find peace with this also slightly off look... We have decided to go with our earlier iteration where the original laser cut piece of wood is bare and then (sadly) discard the lhama-cut veneer.

Hu-hey, have a lhamazing day!
